Amazon “Boxed-Out” Campaign
Press: New York Times |Daily News| New York Magazine
In collaboration with DCX and The American Booksellers Association, we got bookstores across the country to turn their storefronts into billboards in the shape of giant amazon boxes.
Did you know that Amazon will losses its book sales just to make sure indie booksellers can’t ever compete with them? I didn’t either, but this action has devastating effects on local bookstores, which increased during the pandemic.
We teamed with The American Booksellers Association to launch this coordinated attack against Amazon all across America on Amazon Prime Day.
Bookstores transformed their storefronts into huge billboards, that made it look like they’d been “boxed out" by the retail juggernaut.
The stunt had a huge effect on customers, as lines formed around the block outside stores from coast to coast!
It also allowed me to achieve the lifelong dream of placing in the Highbrow/Brilliant section of New York Magazine’s Approval Matrix
Huge Thanks To DCX For The Opportunity To Work On This. Here’s their case study on it
